The customs line in Madrid. A bus in Walt Disney World. The Police substation in Penn Station. New Zealand. Tahiti. And now, Little Rock, Arkansas. This is the abbreviated list of places where random people have stopped me to ask for directions.
During my most recent visit to Little Rock, I was walking down the street with a friend when a car pulled over to stop us and ask for directions to the Greyhound station. They were disappointed when we replied "sorry, we don't live here." What was it? The matching t-shirts from our event? The slow pace we were taking on account of the wall of heat that people call air in the south during the summer?
